HYSTEROLAPROSCOPY

HYSTEROLAPROSCOPY

What is Hysterolaproscopy

Hysterolaparoscopy is a diagnostic procedure used to assess issues relating to infertility in the female reproductive organs. Laparoscopy is a sort of surgical treatment that involves the insertion of a tiny optic fibre wire with a camera at the end known as a Laparoscope. During the procedure, the Laparoscope is introduced into the uterus via an incision made near the navel.

Hysterolaparoscopy is widely used around the world and has proven to be a reliable procedure in the diagnosis and treatment of infertility. This is because it provides far more thorough information about the state inside the uterus than other imaging tests, such as ultrasound or an MRI.

Hysterolaprocopy is used for what diagnosis?

Hysterolaproscopy is commonly used to diagnosis the following problems which may be causing infertility issues.

  • Uterine fibroid: – Uterine fibroids are noncancerous uterine growths that commonly arise during reproductive years. Uterine fibroids do not increase the risk of uterine cancer and nearly never develop into malignancy, although they can cause reproductive problems. The doctor can use hysterolaparoscopy to diagnose and identify symptomatic fibroids in order to extract them.
  • Ovarian cysts: – A fluid-filled sac that forms on an ovary is known as an ovarian cyst. They’re fairly frequent and normally don’t create any symptoms, but certain types of Ovarian Cysts like may cause infertility issues. A Hysterolaproscopy can help the doctor to identify them and treat them accordingly.
  • Endometriosis: – Endometriosis is a disorder in which tissue comparable to the womb lining begins to grow in other locations, such as the ovaries and fallopian tubes. Up to 30% to 50% of women with endometriosis may experience infertility. Also it dose cause a considerable discomfort & pain to the individual experiencing it. Hence a Hysterolaroscopy is useful tool to diagnose it easily.
  • Ectopic pregnancy: – An ectopic pregnancy happens when a fertilised egg implants and grows outside of the uterus’s main cavity. Ectopic pregnancy is most commonly found in a fallopian tube, which transports eggs from the ovaries to the uterus. It is a serious issue which can easily be diagnosed with an Hysterolaproscopy.
