WHAT ARE 4 CAUSES FOR MALE INFERTILITY

WHAT ARE 4 CAUSES FOR MALE INFERTILITY

Male infertility Overview: –

If a couple tries but fails to conceive within a year, healthcare providers deem them infertile.

Nearly one in every six couples is infertile, meaning they haven’t been able to get pregnant despite having had regular, unprotected sexual intercourse for a year or longer, Male infertility plays at least a decent role in up to half of these couples.

Low sperm production, poor sperm function, or sperm delivery obstructions can all contribute to male infertility. Male infertility can be caused by illnesses, injuries, persistent health problems, lifestyle choices, and other factors.

The failure to fall pregnant can be distressing and disappointing, but male infertility can be treated in a variety of ways.

4 Main Causes Of Male Infertility: –

  • Semen & Sperm –

Poor-quality semen, the fluid containing sperm ejected during intercourse, is a common cause of infertility in men.

The following are some of the possible causes of aberrant sperm

  • sperm deficiency – you may have a low sperm count or none at all.
  • sperm that aren’t swimming properly – this makes it more difficult for sperm to reach the egg.
  • abnormal sperm – Sperm might have an unusual shape that makes it difficult for them to migrate and fertilise an egg.

  • Ejaculation issues.

During the climax, semen enters the bladder instead of exiting out the tip of the penis, resulting in retrograde ejaculation. Diabetes, spinal injuries, drugs, and bladder, prostate, or urethra surgery are all examples of health issues that might cause retrograde ejaculation.

  • Hormone Imbalance.

Infertility can be caused by issues with the testicles or by issues with other hormonal systems such as the hypothalamus, pituitary, thyroid, and adrenal glands. Inadequate testosterone (male hypogonadism) and other hormonal issues can be caused by a variety of factors.

  • Problems with sexual intercourse.

Sexual intercourse problems like Erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, painful intercourse, anatomical abnormalities such as a urethral opening beneath the penis (hypospadias), or psychological or relational problems that interfere with sex are examples of these.

  • Other Significant Causes of Male Infertility
  • Varicocele – A varicocele is an enlargement of the veins draining the testis. It’s the most common cause of male infertility that can be treated.
  • Infection – Some infections can affect sperm count or health, or induce damage that prevents sperm from passing through.
  • Prior surgeries – Certain surgeries may prevent you from having sperm in your ejaculate, including vasectomy, scrotal or testicular surgeries, prostate surgeries.
  • Health & Lifestyle – Obesity, Alcoholism, Tobacco addiction & Drug usage also play a vital role in affecting male infertility.
