To become an egg donor is to help other couples experience the joy of parenthood. Many couples find difficulty conceiving naturally due to some health conditions or unexplained reasons. Such intended couples choose ART procedures to get pregnant. The ART procedures include IVF, ICSI, IUI, and so on. Many women decide to become an egg donor out of kindness, generosity, and one can also get paid for their kind and selflessness.

But before you choose to become a proud egg donor, here are a few things you should be aware of.

What is Egg Donation?

Egg donation is a procedure in which young women provide her mature eggs (ova or oocytes) to another couple or person to perform an assisted reproduction procedure so that the egg’s recipient can have a baby with her partner or donor sperm.

The Process

During the egg donation process, our IVF specialist in Pune will retrieve eggs from a woman with healthy ovaries. The eggs are then fertilized with the male partner’s sperm inside a specialized laboratory called IVF lab. When the sample turns into embryos, they are placed inside the woman’s uterus. It will take a few days or weeks until the embryo successfully gets implanted inside the uterus, and the woman becomes pregnant. The developing baby is then carried in her womb till childbirth.
